2 Corinthians 10:3-5

3For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. 4The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 5We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

Whenever God things happen you might as well suit up because of far as Satan is concerned it’s game time.

1. Belt of Truth

2. Breastplate of Righteousness (the righteousness of Jesus in us, this ones pretty tough I’m still working on it every day)

3. Shoes of Peace (inner peace and readiness to share the gospel)

4. Shield of Faith (living by faith)

5. Helmet of Salvation (come on, this ones pretty self explanatory)

6. Sword of the Spirit (having God’s word in your heart to counter act spiritual warfare)

That’s some heavy stuff!

home is what you make it…

June 17, 2008

The last few weeks have been the coolest times of my life. I feel like my band and I have grown so much. Even last week, when they were playing for high school and I was doing middle school all the time we spent together we just grew exponentially as friends and worship leaders. It’s to the point now where being on and off stage with those guys just feels natural

We are going through some serious changes as a band. Anyone who knows anything about us knows that we do worship and we do rock n’ roll. It really is like one big juggling act. June we do worship camps, and July we do rock tour. Well after being gone for 3 weeks straight doing worship and just seeing what God has done in our hearts and the hearts of the kids we’ve played for I have decided to make a really tough call for us. Collectively as a band we have decided that this really isn’t the direction that we feel God is taking us anymore. I have always been really passionate about playing pop music and stuff but lately I have just lost the fire. I really feel like it’s because it is so hard to give something to God that wasn’t given to Him from the start. I have always tried so hard to give God our band but it just never seemed to work out, we’d always lose sight and just put on a good show. We are going to spend the month kind of regathering our hearts and focusing more on our future as a band. I say all this to say that we are still going to be playing rock music, just not nearly as much and not nearly as focussed on it as we were before. We are all super excited about what God has in store for us as a band and as brothers. I am doing gigs with 6 Piece Suit again and that should be a great time. I’ve really missed some of the gigs we use to have. The kids they play for are amazing.

North Point, Browns Bridge, and Buckhead 6th grade camp is this week! I leave friday morning and I couldn’t possibly be more stoked. I love everyone in the band thats playing and I can’t wait to get to know them more.

on the road again

June 9, 2008

Sorry for the lack of updates, I’ve been on the road the past week and will be gone for 2 more weeks. So ill make this real short and sweet.

- mountain lake church’s camp was the bomb
- those kids are the bomb
- I got the live out loud rethink cd I have a song on and its dope! I’m stoked to share a track on the same cd as people like Fee, Chrystina, Hoard, James David Carter, and many more great artist/worship leaders
- I leave for Woodstock’s camp in pc in 4 hours (yes 5 a.m.)
- I really wish I were leading at big stuf, I’m super jealous that all of my friends are playing there and I’m playing across the street.
- boot camp’s next week and it’s gona be THE JAM!
- Oh yea, I write pop/country music now. In the words of Matt Wells, “respect that son!” Be looking for some twangy jams real soon

Peace, Love, and Cowboy  Boots
