So here’s the deal. It’s 3:01 am and I am on my 6th episode of Lost Season 1 today. The thing is, every time I get done with an episode I am left hanging to the point where I have to watch another episode. Now take into consideration that I am only 9 episodes in to a 25 episode series, but I want to write down my current evaluation of all the characters. Yes, I am a nerd, but I want to keep record of how this is going to change so here I go.
Kate Austen- The only thing we know about Kate’s past at this point is that she was on the plane because she was a prisoner in transport. We don’t what she did or why she did it. The only thing we do know at this point is that she is carrying around a reasonable amount of guilt. I think she is a great person and a very valuable asset to the group on the island. My only complaint thus far is that she is for some reason stuck on getting Sawyer (I guess that’s his name) to “come around.” I’ll get to Sawyer next, but as of yet he’s my least favorite.
James “Sawyer” Ford- Sawyer is a huge walking, oxygen thieve as my dad would say haha. We know that he has an incredibly painful past losing his mom and dad by someone who robbed is family of all their money. Sawyer wrote a note to the man who he called, “Mr. Sawyer” but never got to give him the note. Apparently because he too has become a Sawyer in the sense that he tried to use a family for their money. Sawyer is a scum bag through and through. I really just don’t like him haha.
Jack Shephard- Jack is a huge team player. We know that him and his dad had a weird relationship. I personally think his dad forced him to do a lot of things as a child that he didnt want to do. He was in Australia to bring his dad home but his dad ended up dying of a heart attack while there. Jack has been monumental to the safety of all of the people on the island. I wish Jack would step up to the plate and make the move on Kate.
Sayid Jaraah- Sayid has a weird past being in the Iraqi Republican Guard. We know that he was set up to eventually kill his friend by feds. Sayid just recently had a breakthrough where he had to leave the island. He almost killed Sawyer and he promised someone that he’d never do it again. He is now being held captive by some chick that I’m not real sure about right now haha. Sayid has been a great guy thus far and I have really enjoyed watching his character develop. He is also what I would call a true team player.
Sun-Hwa-Kwon & Jin Kwon- In a nutshell, Jin works for Sun’s father. Her father from my assumptions is some kind of a mob leader. Jin was forced to hurt someone and I believe killed them. Jin has until this point oppressed his wife and she was even planning on leaving him at the airport. He doesn’t know she speaks english which is bizarre to me ha. Sun really wants to help people and Jin is just a huge butt hole at this point.
John Locke- Oh geez, where do I begin. John got screwed by his long lost parents into giving up his kidney. Somehow, and we don’t know how yet, he became paralyzed. However, in the accident he miraculously became healed. He has not told anyone of this miracle and I am not sure why yet. Locke is a weird freagin’ dude. He is definitely the groups second most valuable player because he understands things about the island that no one else does. Here’s the deal, I know he’s gona be important but he is a freagin’ hippy thats all I am gona say.
Boone Carlyle & Shannon Rutherford- All we know about their past at this point is that they are step brother and sister and he is not-so-secretly in love with her. Boone is a true team player and Shannon is coming around. Boone really cares about his step sister but his character hasn’t really developed too much at this point.
Michael Dawson & Walt- We know that Michael is Walt’s real father and that Michael doesn’t really know his son that well. Walt is your average adventurous kid and Michael is really trying to adjust to being Walt’s father for once. Michael is doing a great job and he has really become a valuable team player as well. That’s all I know about them at this point.
Charlie Pace- We know that Charlie was in the rock band, “Drive Shaft”. Charlie didn’t want to go huge but his band-mates promised to look after him. Long story short, they didn’t and he became addicted to drugs just like them. Locke has been very influential in helping Charlie get off of drugs. Charlie didn’t think he was worth anything but after saving Jack’s life in the cave accident he has a renewed self-esteem. Charlie has also taken up Claire Littleton and sort of taken care of her. I didn’t elaborate on her character yet because I don’t know anything about her yet.
Last but certainly not least is Hugo “Hurley” Reyes- We don’t know anything about Hurley’s past at this point. However, I did watch the end of season 4 and I do know that he won the lottery. Hurley just made a golf course and its a huge hit among the guys. I love Hurley he is just a happy dude. Nobody who watches lost doesn’t love Hurley, that’s all I am gona say.
Wow, I love lost way too much.
