lifes been awesome! been leading worship every day. this is my first day off in 7 days. i love it! I got to lead with some buds i hadnt seen in a while and that was great. We def had a great time.
I got to see my parents, charlie-murphy, and my grand parents this weekend and that was excellent. I hadnt seen them in a long time. On a crazier note, I woke up at 11:30 on Saturday to the sound of sirens, police cars, an ambulance, a fire truck, and my grandma screaming in pain. She fell down the stairs and they had to take her to Grady in a helicopter. It was nuts! Praise the Lord that she is totally fine, they thought she had broke her neck but really she just got bruised up pretty bad.
We are going on the road this weekend and I am excited! I’ve missed it a lot. I cant wait to see what God has in store for us and the kids this weekend.
I’ve been listening to Billy Joel, and so it goes is one of the best songs ever!

so today i got “busted” for the first time in a long time. mostly because i havent been doing anything stupid recently, but i got caught scanning my card and dipping at chapel. not a huge deal in the long run, but definitely not an honest move on my part and I certainly regret it.
In me getting punished for what I did I found out that people in charge at my school read my blog. Not a huge deal, I havent said anything on here that I regret or that I didnt mean but it was definitely a shocker.
Im looking forward to my small group tonight. I love my dudes, they are awesome. Living room is gona be great tonight, clay is really challenging us this series!

Sorry for the lack of updates. I have been in Charleston without internet visiting my mom. It was pretty awesome! I got to see my dog and my mom and go fishing with my grandad. It was definitely a good time.
I am in Greenville now hanging with an old friend Wil Martin. We are leading worship together at his church, Marathon Church, here in G-Vegas. It’s going to be a great time.
We recorded a Keith Urban song today and I am going to post it up tonight. Be excited because its awesome!

I have come to the realization today that I am officially in a slump. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but I think I have a good idea of what the problem is. I have been getting a lot more opportunities as a guitar player rather than a worship leader. I am having a hard time admitting this, but I think I am better at playing guitar than I am at leading worship. It’s not a secret that my biggest struggle as a worship leader is effectively communicating and taking the kids somewhere. Even though I do feel like I have gotten a lot more comfortable, I just don’t feel like I am near as good as these other guys. However I am so comfortable (not always competent, but always confident) on the guitar. Playing at Big Stuf was a huge milestone for me as a guitar player. It really forced me to do some things way outside of my comfort zone but I grew a ton. I am really trying hard to continue to grow as a worship leader while still growing as a guitar player as well. I guess it’s a good struggle to have, I just wish I was a better communicator on stage. I’m only 20 though, I just want to keep growing and getting better every day.

kurtis and I started booking summer tour today. I can’t even tell you how excited I am! We’re gona be gone for 14 days, July 14-28 and we will will be going to some places I have never been before (Kentucky! haha).
Kurtis, Nate, and I invented a new sport… Extreme bush jumping. It goes like this…
Great news! Murphy didn’t have to have surgery today. As of now it’s kind of a hurry up and wait process. He has three weeks of no running, no jumping, and no stair climbing. If you know my dog, this is gona be a challenge for him. After that three weeks if he is not back to 100% they will resort to back surgery. I am really praying that this wont have to happen for a few reasons. First and foremost, it’s a risky surgery. Secondly its $2,000 operation and with my parents owning 2 houses right now that’d be real tough for them to pull of. I know that we would pull it off but that would be a struggle for sure.
Kurtis and I are going on the road this weekend. We will be in Norcross for the next 2 days leading worship for some singles weekend for Mount Bethel. We are pretty excited about it, it should be a lot of fun. I am real stressed about the amount of work I have to get done in these last few weeks of school. This weekend is gona be filled with a lot of guitar playing, and paper writing when we aren’t rocking out.
Pray for our band! We are going through a weird time right now and could really use some good ole’ fashion prayer. We just haven’t been excited about making rock music anymore because we are all doing our own thing. We are trying to figure out where our steam went. I’m sure this new record coming out is gona change things, but we’d love some extra prayer support!
